Privacy Policy

Clipmefy is an AI-powered video creation tool. When you use Clipmefy, we collect and process certain personal data to provide the service. This policy explains what data we collect, why we collect it, who processes it on our behalf, and what rights you have over it.

Clipmefy uses artificial intelligence to generate video scripts and voiceovers. When you create a video:

• Your topic and script content are sent to a third-party AI language model provider to generate the script.
• The generated script is sent to a third-party text-to-speech AI provider to produce the voiceover.

You are interacting with AI at every video-generation step. The final script and voiceover are AI-generated content.

We use third-party service providers to operate Clipmefy, including providers for database hosting, email delivery, payment processing, AI content generation, file storage, authentication, website infrastructure, and product analytics (PostHog, United States — only if you allow analytics; Cloudflare Web Analytics for cookie-free page counts). All providers are bound by data processing agreements and comply with GDPR. Transfers outside the EEA are covered by Standard Contractual Clauses (EU SCCs).

Clipmefy sets essential cookies — session tokens required for authentication, plus a cookie recording your own consent choice — and, only if you allow analytics, one analytics cookie from PostHog. We do not use advertising cookies.

Essential cookies do not require consent under the ePrivacy Directive. Analytics runs only when your consent choice includes it, and stops, with its stored data deleted, when you switch it off. Cloudflare Web Analytics counts page views without cookies or any stored data, and stops loading if you switch analytics off. Under GDPR we must tell you the lawful basis for each purpose:

• Contract (Art. 6(1)(b)) — creating your account, generating and storing your videos, and taking payment. Without this data there is no service to provide.
• Legitimate interests (Art. 6(1)(f)) — keeping you signed in securely, preventing fraud and abuse, and enforcing usage limits.
• Consent (Art. 6(1)(a)) — marketing emails, analytics, and any non-essential cookie. You can withdraw either at any time; see Your rights below.
• Legal obligation (Art. 6(1)(c)) — retaining invoices and tax records for the period the law requires.

Retention periods depend on your plan. All periods begin from the date the video was exported or the job was last updated.

• Local working files — source clips, audio, and metadata stored on our server during production. Deleted automatically after the period above. Rendered video intermediates are deleted immediately after your video is uploaded to OneDrive, regardless of plan.
• Hosted video — your exported video stored on OneDrive for download and playback. Deleted automatically after the period above. Once deleted, the video is no longer streamable from Clipmefy.
• Account data — kept until you delete your account.
• Job records and video topics — the record of what you created (title, topic, settings) is kept until you delete your account or the individual job, independent of the video file.
• Usage records for plan limits — the date of each video created and a one-way hash of the network it came from (never the IP address itself), used to enforce monthly free limits. Deleted after 2 months; if you delete your account, the link to your account is removed immediately.
• Password reset tokens — expire after 1 hour and are deleted on use.
• Analytics events and session replays — kept for the retention period configured in PostHog, and deleted on request.
• Anonymised analytics — we may retain aggregate, non-personal usage stats indefinitely.

Under GDPR (and similar laws in Brazil, California, and other jurisdictions), you have the right to:

• Access — request a copy of all data we hold about you.
• Deletion — delete your account and all associated data at any time from Settings → Delete account. We will process your request immediately.
• Portability — request an export of your data in a machine-readable format.
• Rectification — correct inaccurate data via Settings or by emailing us.
• Withdraw consent — unsubscribe from marketing emails using the unsubscribe link in any email, and change your cookie choices at any time via Manage cookies in the footer. Withdrawing consent is as easy as giving it, and does not affect processing carried out beforehand.
• Object — object to processing based on legitimate interest.

To exercise any right, email info@clipmefy.com. We respond within 30 days.

To request a data export, email info@clipmefy.com with the subject "Data export request". We will send a JSON file of your account and job data within 30 days.

Clipmefy is not directed at children under 16. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 16. If you believe we have inadvertently done so, contact us and we will delete the data immediately.

We will notify registered users by email of any material changes to this policy before they take effect. The "Effective" date at the top of this page is always updated when changes are made.
