What are cookies?
Cookies are small text files that websites place on your device. They are widely used to make websites work, remember your preferences, and provide information to site owners.
What cookies does Clipmefy use?
Clipmefy sets the strictly necessary cookies listed below, plus one that remembers your consent choice. If you allow analytics, it also sets the analytics cookie described in the next section. We use no advertising cookies.

These cookies are essential for the service to function. They cannot be disabled without breaking sign-in and account security.
Analytics (only if you allow it)
We use PostHog to understand which features get used and to find bugs. It loads only once your consent choice includes analytics, and stops — deleting its cookie and stored data — as soon as you switch analytics off.

With analytics on, PostHog records the pages you visit, the actions you take, errors the site hits, and a replay of the session with everything you type masked. When you are signed in, this is linked to your account (your user ID, email and name) so we can help if something breaks. The data is processed by PostHog, Inc. on servers in the United States, under Standard Contractual Clauses.
Switching analytics off leaves one small entry in local storage, __ph_opt_in_out_<project>, which only records that you said no.
Cookie-free page statistics
We also count page views with Cloudflare Web Analytics. It sets no cookies, stores nothing on your device and does not identify or follow you across sites: it records the page, where the visit came from, and your browser, device type and country. Because nothing is stored on your device it runs without asking first, but if you switch analytics off in your cookie choice we stop loading it from your next page.
Cookies we do NOT use
We do not set or read:
- Advertising or retargeting cookies
- Social media tracking pixels
- Third-party marketing cookies of any kind
- Analytics cookies, unless you have allowed analytics
These are not on our roadmap. Should that ever change, they would be switched off by default everywhere and would run only for people who explicitly turned them on.
Legal basis (EU/EEA users)
Strictly necessary cookies are processed on the basis of legitimate interests (Article 6(1)(f) GDPR) — specifically, to provide secure authentication and prevent fraud — and do not require consent under the ePrivacy Directive. Analytics is processed on the basis of consent (Article 6(1)(a) GDPR).
Optional cookies are a different matter, and what we do depends on where you are. If you are visiting from the EEA, the UK or Switzerland, nothing optional runs until you opt in — the banner offers accepting and declining side by side, one click each. Elsewhere we follow the local opt-out standard: analytics may run from your first visit, the banner tells you so, and you can switch it off below or from the banner at any time. Marketing cookies are never switched on by default anywhere.

Your consent choice is stored in a first-party cookie named cm_cookie_consent for 180 days. You can change it at any time:
You can also configure your browser to block or delete cookies. Note that blocking authentication cookies will prevent you from signing in to Clipmefy. Most browsers provide instructions in their Help menu on how to manage cookie settings.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy if we change the cookies we use. Changes will be posted here with a new effective date. We will not introduce non-essential cookies without first obtaining your consent.
